Deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Tomáš Dub visited Benin from 8th January to 9th of January 2013.

The visit of Deputy minister Dub followed the visit of Blaise Ahanhanzo-Glele, Minister of Environment, Housing and Urbanism, in the Czech Republic in February / March 2012.

On 8th of January Tomáš Dub met with Blaise Ahanhanzo-Glele (Minister of Environment, Housing and Urbanism), Théophil Odoulami (Secretary General of Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Small and Medium-Sized Entreprises), Christophe Kaki (Director of Cabinet of Ministry of Energy and Mining) and representatives of Chamber of Commerce.

Tomáš Dub met also with François Adebayo Abiola (Minister of Higher Education) and with Pamphil Goutondji (Secretary General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs). Tomáš Dub paid a courtesy call to H.E. Pascal Koupaki, Prime Minister of Benin.

The Czech Republic considers the Republic of Benin as a stable country which could help Czech products to enter into the West African market, especially neighbouring Nigeria. Relationship between both countries has a long and friendly tradition. We register a mutual interest in promotion this relationship in recent times.

Deputy Minister Dub confirmed the readiness of the Czech government to promote mutual benefit bilateral relations with Benin, including the support of concrete activities of Czech companies in Benin. For the time being, the Czech companies in Benin are focusing on cooperation in field of health service and mining.
