The Czech Development Cooperation

Within the framework of foreign development cooperation (ODA), the Czech Republic has been operating in Ethiopia to a greater extent since 2001. Based on the Strategy of Foreign Development Cooperation for the period 2018 to 2030, the Czech Republic has selected six priority partner countries where it realises long-term projects: Bosnia and Herzegovina; Ethiopia, Georgia, Cambodia, Moldova and Zambia.

Following the decision of the Czech Government, a Memorandum of Understanding on Development Cooperation was signed on 16 February 2018 between the Ethiopian Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. An integral part of the memorandum is the bilateral Development Cooperation Program for the period 2018-2023.

The Czech Development Cooperation consists of the following instruments:

· Bilateral projects

· Trilateral projects

· Aid for Trade projects

· Humanitarian aid

· Small local projects

· Government scholarships for developing countries
