NATO Contact Point Embassy briefing on the visit of NATO Support Agency team in Amman.

On Tuesday 2 April, NATO Contact Point Embassy briefed the representatives of allied nations’ embassies in Jordan on the visit of NATO Support Agency (NSPA) team in Amman that took place on 18 – 21 March.

The Kingdom of Jordan was chosen to host the first ever NATO Trust Fund Projects in the Mediterranean Dialogue country in 2008. With the main objectives of building and making operational the infrastructure needed for the destruction of unserviceable and obsolete stockpiled ammunition, about 5, 690, 000 euro were provided in the period of  4 years.

Building upon the achievements accomplished through the two projects, the NSPA and Jordanian authorities have begun to explore some new initiatives aiming at developing new capacities, contributing to safety and security as well as enhancing the operational and technical capabilities of Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF).
