The Second NATO Trust Fund for Jordan officially closed

The second NATO – Jordan Trust Fund (TF II) was officially closed in the ceremony that took place on 29th May 2013 on the location of Demilitarized Facility Al-Ghabawi in Zarqá.
The ceremony was held under the auspices of Brig. General Omar al-Khaldi, the Chief of Strategic Planning of Joranian Armed Forces. NATO delegation was led by gen. Carlos Branco, Director of Regional Security and Co-operation Division, NATO International Military Staff, and included Dr. Rolf Schwarz, Deputy Head of Middle East and North Africa Section in the PASP Division, NATO International Staff, and Mr. Graham Brooks, a Representative of NATO Support Agency. Also present were representatives of the embassies of donor nations, as well as delegation of NATO Contact Point Embassy, headed by Ambassador Ivana Holoubková.
The main objective of NATO – Jordan TF II was to make operational the new infrastructure for delaboration of obsolete and decommissioned ammunition – „Demilitarized Facility“ built from donations made to TF I in 2009-2010. TF II, lead by Italy, had been officially inaugurated in April 2010 and during the two years period accumulated contributions totalling 2,600,000 euro.
Following the speeches of Gen. Al-Khaldi, Gen. Branco, G. Brooks, and G.P. Neri, the Deputy Head of Mission, Italian Embassy, the guests toured the Demilitarized Facility compound.
