Czech runner helps Syrian children in Jordan

(This article expired 31.12.2018.)

Czech long-distance runner David Christof ran during eleven days across Jordan to support the education of Syrian and Jordanian children.

David Christof, who is living in Jordan since last September, had previously completed several similar projects. Of his major long-distance running projects could be considered the Czech Republic to Morocco run, to promote access to clean drinking water. This time David decided to help to solve a problem that Jordan is currently suffering from, the issue of Syrian refugees, most of whom are women and children. During eleven days David ran across Jordan, which in total was counted as 486 km, and ended symbolically in the refugee camp of Zaatari. In conjunction with the charity organization Mercy Corps and with the help of the Czech Embassy in Amman the amount of USD 12 000 was collected and distributed among several schools in Jordan to improve the education of Syrian and Jordanian children.
