Historical Military Vehicles Exchange between the Czech Republic and Jordan

The carrier aircraft AN-124 arrived to the Hashemite Kingdom on Monday, 30th August to carry onboard two historical military vehicles as an exchange gift from Jordan’s Royal Tanks Museum to the Czech Republic

Developing the diplomatic and friendly relations between Jordan and the Czech Republic and pursuant to the agreement on the exchange of historical military vehicles between the Czech Republic and the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau, The carrier aircraft AN-124 arrived to the Hashemite Kingdom on Monday, 30th August to carry onboard two historical military vehicles as an exchange gift from Jordan’s Royal Tanks Museum to the Czech Republic in cooperation with King Abdullah II. Design and Development Bureau (KADDB). The historical military vehicles are M-47 tank and Jeep Ford Mutt. Earlier in April 2010, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan received three historical military vehicles as an exchange gift from the Czech Republic to Jordan’s Royal Tanks Museum, a T-54 tank and two OT-810 Half-Track vehicles.

OT-810 Half-Track vehicles were originally designed in Germany during World War II, the best armored personnel carrier used during World War II. Between 1959 and 1962, about 1200 units of this design were produced in Czechoslovakia. The T-54 tank was manufactured in the Soviet Union since 1945 and in Czechoslovakia since 1962. Its kind was used by the Soviet Union Red Army during its occupation operation of Czechoslovakia in 1968.

The M47 Patton was the second tank of the Patton series, and one of the U.S Army's principal medium gun tanks of the Cold war with models in service from the early 1950s to the late 1980s. The M47 was used by Jordan in the Six Day War in 1967. The M151 MUTT was the successor to the Korean War M38 and M38A1 jeep Light Utility Vehicles. It was produced from 1959 through 1982 and served in the Vietnam War.
