Czech Republic participated in the „Eurovillage“ event in Baku

At the weekend June, 1-2, the Embassy of the Czech Republic took part in the cultural and presentation event “Eurovillage”, which was organized by Delegation of the European Union in the historical part of the city of Baku (Icheri Sheher).
The event was aimed at presenting the EU member states, theirs history, culture, traditions and sights.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic together with the Embassies of Poland and Hungary shared one tent and presents (except the Czech Republic) also the Visegrad group.
Each visitor could get the “passport” of the European Union and was supposed to collect stamps for visiting stands of each state, for answering the questions about these states etc.
This successful event visited around 7000 visitors. About 4000 passports were issued. The Czech Embassy distributed more than 600 brochures and magazines about the Czech Republic.
Part of the event was focused on the degustation of traditional cuisine and drinks of some states and presentation of traditional manufacture. Within the concerts on the main stage, Ms. Gunel Alakbarova, graduate of Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, performed a few pieces of classical music.
