One of the practical results of increasingly deepening cooperation between the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baku and Baku Slavic University (BSU) is the enlargement of the Czech Language and Culture Centre (Centre), which was established at BSU by the Czech Embassy in October 2010.
Rector of BSU prof. Kamal Abdullayev kindly met the request of Czech Ambassador Radek Matula and earmarked a new space for the Centre and the Czech Embassy provided general reconstruction of this room. In this connection the Czech Embassy thanks the Caspian Investment Company for its help.
Besides the classroom, which serves its purpose more than two years, students of the Czech language from the International Relations and Region Studies Faculty (specialization “Czech studies”) and the Translation Faculty (specialization “interpreter Azerbaijani-Czech”) get at their disposal the study room, where the library and computers will be placed.
Except of support of teaching of the Czech language and literature and the spread of information about the Czech Republic, its history, geography, economy, policy, culture etc., the other purpose of the Center’s activities is to assist with establishing of contacts and expansion of cooperation between BSU and the Czech universities.
