4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue in Baku

The 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue was held in Baku, from 5 to 6 May 2017, on the theme “Advancing Intercultural Dialogue – New avenues for human security, peace and sustainable development”. UNESCO motto Building peace in the minds of men and women brought together at the Forum top representatives of state, heads of various international organizations, cultural professionals, experts, intellectuals and other persons thinking on our today and future.

Vice-chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of Parliament of the Czech Republic Radek Vondráček took a part in panel The Role of parliaments in building cultural bridges between civilizations organized by the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Resuming role of Parliaments Mr. Vondráček said: I am strongly convinced that it is always possible to come to an agreement. It is always possible to build bridges, not to burn them. Barriers may be overcome. The medicine for fear and hate is knowledge and understanding. Thanks to our posts we are more than the others able to influence this process of knowledge and understanding. And that is why we also bear more responsibility. Let´s exploit our opportunities. Let´s be responsible. Let´s build those bridges over civilizations and cultures.

During his visit in Baku Mr. Vondráček met  Vice-chairman of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Valeh Alasgarov.
