Step by step with implementation of new technologies – Czech HYDAL for greener future
04.02.2013 / 04:04
Food safety and sustainable waste treatment belong to the frequent issues discussed broadly in the Czech Republic as well as in China. The interest in new technologies grows continuously together with strengthening of monitoring and control of the safety in food sector and implementation of directives in restaurants and food courts. The new technology HYDAL™, developed and patented by the research team of Technical University in Brno and represented in China by company Nafigate Corp., is a suitable example of such an innovative technology.
Described as biotechnology for PHA (polyhydroxyalkanoates) production this method offers a 3 in 1 solution model – solves problem with waste (used cooking oil), produces biocompatible polymer thanks to a patented process from this waste and solves problem with storage and liquidation of synthetic plastics by offering a new material for packaging industry.
Representatives of the company Nafigate prepared with support of the Czech Embassy a presentation on January 24, 2013 for about twenty experts from various Chinese companies and universities. The Czechs showed the audience samples of biopolymers and presented the business model created for a spin-off of the technology in commercial practice. More than hourlong discussion followed afterwards and clearly showed the interest of the Chinese audience for the project. The next step in implementation process should follow soon – building of a research center and pilot line in Brno for technology optimization and further improvement.
