The Ambassador Met Chaoyang Mayor

On 16 January 2013, Ambassador Libor Sečka met with Madame Wu Guiying, mayor of Chaoyang District – part of the capital city of Beijing in which the Czech Embassy has found its home for the last several decades.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss future cooperation of Chaoyang District with the Embassy and partners in the Czech Republic.  The District is exploring the possibility of a sister-city agreement with the district of Prague 1, the historical heart of the Czech capital. A delegation from Chaoyang is visiting Prague these days to further pursue this relationship, which was one of the topics covered by Ambassador Sečka and Madame Wu. Economic cooperation – in particular in the areas of consumer credit and bio-technology waste water treatment - as well as possibilities for cultural exchanges were also talked about. Ambassador Sečka and Madame Wu agreed that cooperation between the two sides is mutually beneficial and concrete projects should be implemented in the future.
