The Visit of Mrs. Klausová in Beijing

Mrs. Livia Klausová, wife of the President of the Czech Republic, visited Beijing from July 12 to July 14, 2012. In her honor, the embassy hosted a celebratory reception which was enriched by the singing of the Kuhn’s junior choir.
During her visit, Mrs Klausová attended a ceremony commemorating the reintroduction of the children’s cartoon series of the Little Mole on Chinese state television. At the moment, CCTV is broadcasting the Little Mole stories every day on its TV channels.
In addition to Mrs. Klausová, under whose auspices the ceremony was held, the gala evening was attended by many important guests, such as the Czech ambassador in China Mr. Libor Sečka, President of the Czech Television Mr. Petr Dvořák, as well as Ms. Karolína Milerová, the grand daughter of Mr. Zdeněk Miler, the creator of the Little Mole’s character. The Czech delegation of the Czech China Chamber of Collaboration was lead by Mr. Zdeněk Škromach, the Vice-Chairman of the Czech Senate, together with the president of the Chamber Mr. Jan Kohout. Present was also the chairman of the Mayor’s Club from the Czech Social Democratic Party, Mr. Jan Birke, as well as managers from the PPF financial group and others especially Chinese guests.
Mrs. Klausová visited Beijing at the official invitation by the Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs. During her visit, she met not only with the leaders of this honorable Institute but also with the Vice-Chairwoman of the National People’s Congress
Mrs. Chen Zhili. Mrs. Klausová also paid a visit to the Forbidden City, strolled along the busy street of Wangfujing, and contemplated in the oldest Buddhist temple of Tanzhe in a hilly area at the outskirts of Beijing.
