The Deputy Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic Mr. Martin Sankot met the Chinese Minister of Culture Mr. Cai Wu

The meeting took place on June 13, 2013, less than a month after the 1st conference on the cultural cooperation between PRC and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe (May 13 – May 19, 2013). The discussion included some particular cultural projects with the focus on tourism and media support of these projects by state TV stations CT (Czech Television) and CCTV.

The Czech Ministry of Culture is planning to organize a big exhibition of Alfons Mucha’s paintings, which should be introduced in China in the second half of 2014. An exhibition of Chinese historical artifacts, including the Terracotta warriors, is going to be held at the Prague Castle. These exhibitions and other projects will commemorate the 65th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Apart from Mr. Sankot, the Czech Republic was represented by the Czech Ambassador in Beijing Libor Sečka, the chairman of the supervisory board of the Czech China Chamber of Collaboration Jaroslav Tvrdík, the executive director of Czech Television Milan Fridrich, the executive director of  CzechTourism Office in Beijing, and gallerist Jan Třeštík.
