General Consulate of Hungary in Chongqing represents the Czech Republic in processing shorterm Schengen visa

Starting May 1 2013 applicants travelling to the Czech Republic are eligible to apply for short term Schengen visa at the General Consulate of Hungary in Chongqing. The Hungarian General Consulate represents the Czech Republic on bilateral basis. Applicants having permanent residence/Hukou in Chongqing and provinces Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Gansu and Shaanxi can apply for short term Schengen visa at the General Cosnulate of Hungary in Chongqing. The same rules apply on ADS groups. ADS groups from above mentioned areas can also apply for short term Schengen visa at the General Cosnulate of Hungary in Chongqing. The visa requirements are not being changed and can be found on: www.mfa.gov.hu/kulkepviselet/chongqing/en www.mfa.gov.hu/kulkepviselet/chongqing/cn/mainpage.htm This arrangement provides applicants with more comfort, they do not have to travel a great distance to Beijing. Applicants who still wish to apply at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing may do so. Applicants applying for long term national visa must still travel to Beijing and apply at the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
