On April 14, 2012 Ambassador Cumba officialy visited northern metropolis of Tripoli. Being there, the Ambassador met the important Lebanese politicians from Tripoli region and also the highest sunni-muslim authority of the North of Lebanon. Local medias informed about the event.

The programme in Tripoli started with a meeting with the Member of Parliament and former Minister of Education and Justice Hon. Mr. Samir El-Jisr (Future Bloc).

A meeting with Minister of Youth and Sports Hon. Mr. Faysal Karami (Arab Liberation Party) followed.

Afterwards, the Ambassador was received by the State Minister Hon. Mr. Ahmad Karami (National Consensus Bloc).

The visit culminated with a meeting and private lunch with the Great Mufti of Tripoli and Northern Lebanon H.E. Sheikh Dr. Malek Abdul Karim al-Shaar.
