12/2007 Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lebanon, in cooperation with Collège Notre-Dame de Jamhour, launched on 3 December 2007 presentation "Czech Christmas" combined with exposition " All the Beauties of the World" about the life and work of the 1984 Nobel prize in literature winner, the Czech writer and poet Josef Seifert (the exposition was prepared by the Museum of the Czech Literature in Prague).
11/2007 On November 18, 2007 Ambassador of the Czech Republic H. E. Mr. Jan Cizek participated at the Beiurut Marathon (42,195 km) and successfully reached the finish line at the time 4 hours and 30 minutes.
11/2007 On 2 November 2007 in the framework the celebrations of the National Day of the Czech Republic took place a joint concert of the Lebanese National Symphonic Orchestra and conductor Jan Stvan. The Czech conductor Jan Stvan and the Lebanese National Symphonic Orchestra performed in St. Joseph Church in Beirut - Ashrafiya the Symphony No 9, "From the New World" and Slavonic Dances by Antonin Dvorak.
10/2007 On October 30, 2007, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic organised the reception on the occasion of the Czech National Day in Hotel Rotana Hazmieh. The President of the Lebanese Republic was represented by Mr. F. Salloukh, the Prime Minister by Mr. B. Naamani and the President of the National Assembly by Mr. A. Hachem.
10/2007 On October 13, 2007 H. E. Mr. Jan Cizek participated in the ceremony during which the Czech Fashion Designer Blanka Matragi presented the check to the President of the municipality of Deir Mimas Mr. Morkos, representing the result of her fund rising/collection organised during her fashion show and exhibition in the capital of the Czech Republic, Prague, marking 25th anniversary of her professional work.
05/2007 On Tuesday May 22, president of Lebanese National Symphonic Orchestra Mr. Walid Gholmieh received from the part of the Czech Embassy in Beirut scores for Czech classical music, kindly donored by National Library and Musical information center in Prague, transported with kind assistance of the office of Czech Airlines in Beirut.
04/2007 On April 21, 2007, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Jan Čížek visited Tripoli and El Mina. Discussions during the meetings have been focusing on possibilities of further development of cultural, economical and commercial cooperation between the Czech Republic and Lebanon, and specifically with Tripoli region. Exchange of views included also the current political situation in Lebanon and Tripoli region and security matters.
04/2007 On Sunday April 15 the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Mr. Jan Čížek took part in Zahle International Half Marathon Race organized under the Motto: "We run to the house of peace".
03/2007 On Sunday March 11th, 2007 Ambassador Jan Cizek took part in the inauguration ceremony of generator donated within a post conflict humanitarian aid by the Czech Government through NGO ADRA to the village of Deir Mimas in the south of Lebanon. The generator together with the well and submerisble pump donated by the NGO Baptist Aid creates a joint humanitarian project for securing access to drinking water.
02/2007 Czech Ambassador Jan Cizek paid a visit to several Southern towns and villages Wednesday to check on the status of projects being funded by the government in Prague to help Lebanon recover from the 2006 summer war.

11/2006 The Embassy of the Czech Republic paticipated in the preparation of the "13th European Film Festival" which took place in Beirut from 30 November till 10 December 2006. The Czech contemporary cinematography was represented by the film "Vylet" directed by Alice Nellis.
10/2006 On October 30, a reception was held by the Czech Embassy in Hotel Rotana Beirut on the occasion of the National Holiday. Around 400 persons accepted the invitation to the celebration, amongst others various members of government, MPs, representatives of political parties and Churches, members of the diplomatic corps and journalists. Well represented were also the business community and the Alumni Association of the Czech and Slovak Universities.
10/2006 On October 28 the Czech Embassy in Beirut organised in cooperation with the Alumni Association of the Czech and Slovak Universities, on the occasion of the National Holiday, an evening with Czech folk music with Czech accordion player Jana Bezpalcová.

04/2006 Mr. Miloslav Stašek, Director of the Middle East and Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, arrived to Lebanon on a short working visit. During his stay Director Stašek met with H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Fawzi Salloukh, members of the Foreign Committee of the National Assembly, and with other representatives of the Lebanese political and business life. Mutual exchange of views on the latest developments in the region and various bilateral issues has been discussed.

10/2005 On the suggestion of the Czech and Lebanese believers the Prague Carmelite Order has presented to Lebanon the statuette of the Infant Jesus of Prague. The statuette was ceremonially placed and blessed at the Carmelite St. Elias Monastery in Mayssrah (Kesrouan) on October 23, 2005, in presence of the Czech Ambassador, H.E. M. Skolil, of H.E. the Patriarch Mgr. Paul Dahdah and hundreds of members of the Lebanese religious community.
09/2005 On the occasion of the 11th International Trade Exhibition for Construction Technology, Building Materials and Equipment - Project Lebanon 2005 (September 6-10, 2005), the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lebanon, in co-operation with the Czech-Arab Chamber of Commerce prepared the catalogue exhibition of the Czech companies interested in the business in this field with Lebanon and other countries of the Middle East. 17 Czech companies took part in this exhibition.
09/2005 On September 22, 2005 H. E. Mr. Marek Skolil, Ambassador of the Czech republic in Lebanon hosted a lunch in his residence in Yarzé in honor of the Lebanese businessman Mr. Abed Tabbara during which he awarded this latter a silver medal of merit from the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for his contribution to the development of the relations between the two countries.
07/2005 The Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Jiri Paroubek, Minister of Foreign Affairs Cyril Svoboda, and Minister of Regional Development sent telegrams to their Lebanese counterparts Mr. Fuad Siniora, Mr. Fawzi Salloukh, and Mr. Joseph Sarkis congratulating them on their appointments in the newly created Lebanese Government after the first free parliamentary elections that were held in June. They have wished them success in the demanding process of rebuilding Lebanon and expressed desire to contribute to further development of the Czech-Lebanese cooperation.
04/2005 On the occassion of the Day of the National Unity on April 13, 2005, former Czech President H.E. Mr. Vaclav Havel sent a message of greetings to the movement for independence and democratization of Lebanon.

10/2004 On October 28, 2004, a reception a Reception hold by the Czech Embassy in Beirut on the occasion of the National Holiday. The musical program was provided by the Czech group TRINY, which blends traditional gypsy melodies with contemporary sound. TRINY was also the main guest at the Evening of Czech and Lebanese music, which was organized in cooperation with the Embassy by the Alumni Association of the Czech and Slovak Universities.
05/2004 In celebration of enlargement of the European Union the EU Delegation in Lebanon organized in cooperation with Embassies of the Czech, Polish and Hungarian Republics " Week of European Culture". The Czech Republic was represented by KRLESS, group of musicians performing 13 - 15th century songs from all over Europe. The musicians use exact replicas of medieval instruments built as described and pictured in historical records. During their two concerts KRLESS has captured attention and fancy of the broad audience not only with the professional and lively show, but also with their corresponding marvelous costumes.
05/2004 President Václav Klaus and his wife visited Lebanon. During the visit V. Klaus met with the President of the Lebanese Republic gen. Emile Lahoud, the President of the National Assembly Nabih Berry and with the Prime Minister Rafic Hariri. Agreement on Cultural, Educational and Scientific cooperation, and Agreement on cooperation of the Chambers of commerce of the respective countries were signed. V. Klaus also gave a lecture at the American University in Beirut on the topic of Czech transformational process in the context of European integration. Further, the President together with his wife has met with the Czech compatriots and the Lebanese Alumni of the Czech and Slovak Universities.
02/2004 H. E. Mr. Cyril Svoboda, Deputy Prime-Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, arrived to Lebanon on a short working visit. During his stay Minister Svoboda met with H.E. President General Emile Lahoud, H.E. Prime-Minister Mr. Rafic Hariri, and H.E. Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Jean Obeid. Minister Svoboda than continued his regional tour to Syria. Mutual exchange of views on the latest developments in the region and various bilateral issues has been discussed in the perspective of the forthcoming official visit of the President of the Czech Republic to Lebanon and of the imminent entry of the Czech Republic into the European Union, on May 1, 2004.
02/2004 High representatives of Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague received Mr. S. de Mistura, Representative of the Secretary General of United Nations for Southern Lebanon. In cooperation with the Institute of International Relations Mr. de Mistura gave during his visit a lecture on peace-keeping at the southern borders of Lebanon.
01/2004 The General Director of Skoda Mlada Boleslav Mr. V. Kulhanek visited Lebanon in order to promote sales of Skoda cars in Lebanon.
01/2004 The Czech Government has allocated funds to take part in the international U.N. project "Trees Instead of Mines" with intention to reforest the de-mined territory in southern Lebanon and contribute to stabilization of the volatile region.
