Visit of the Political Director of the MFA

Between June 20 and 22, 2012, Director General of Security and Multilateral Section and Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Ambassador Pavel Fischer and Director of Middle East Department of the MFA Mr. Jiri Ellinger visited Lebanon. The main purpose of the visit were consultations of the Political Directors of the Czech and Lebanese MFAs. During the stay in Beirut the Czech delegation held a series of meetings with the most prominent Lebanese politicitans: Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora (Future Bloc), Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri (Amal Movement), MP and Druze leader Walid Jumblat (Progressive Socialist Party), MP General Michel Aoun (Free Patriotic Movement), Former Lebanese President Amin Gemayel (Kataeb Party) and Dr. Samir Geagea (Lebanese Forces).
