The representation shall come in effect on 1^st August 2013. The representation will be in accordance with the contemporary visa policy of the Czech Republic. The visa representation does not cover long-term visa and residence permit. Regarding short-term visa, applications will be accepted for a limited range of travel purposes, as follows:

- visits of family members of a citizen of the EU

- visits based on invitation for direct family members (parents, children, siblings, husband and wife) of a Syrian national holding a long-term residence in the Slovak Republic

- visits for business purposes

- educational (study) or scientific visits

Applications for special humanitarian reasons (medical etc.) will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
