21 December 2007, the the Czech Republic became part of the Schengen area and at the same time started accepting the Schengen visas issued by another Schengen state for entry into and short-term stay (not exceeding 3 months) in its territory.
Detailed information for foreign nationals concerning the accession of the Czech Republic to the Schengen system is available in a form of a booklet in Czech, English and French (please note, that the booklet operates with the previously expected date of the expansion of the Schengen system, which was 31 December, 2007).
