The festival was opened at Cinema Studio with the screening of the film The Lady about the Burmese Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. On this occasion the Czech Ambassador informed the audience about the Czech diplomacy activities in the promotion of human rights. A special programme of the Festival was organized by the Czech Centre – a series of films In Memoriam Václav Havel – with personal participation of film director Pavel Jančárek. Other Czech films presented at the Festival included All That Glitters, by Tomas Kudrna, and a series of official instruction movies made by the Czech secret police for its recruits, from the archives of the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes.
