Ambassador Jiří Šitler thanks for Romania´s assistance in Czech citizens´ evacuation from Libya

On 28 February 2011 the Ambassador Jiří Šitler sent a letter to the Romanian Prime Minister Emil Boc thanking Romania for its assistance during the evacuation of Czech citizens from Libya.
During the night of 25 to 26 February, a Czech mother with two children aged 8 and 13 were transported together with other persons by Romanian army aircraft from Tripoli via Malta to Bucharest where the Czech Embassy took care of them. In his letter, the Czech Ambassador expressed gratitude for the humanitarian act and thanked for the exemplary cooperation between the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Defence of Romania and the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
