On 9 December 2013, Ambassador Jiří Šitler visited the city of Targu Mures, where he met representatives of the Mures County and had talks at the County Chamber of Trade and Industry.

The Ambassador met the Prefect of the Mures County Corneliu Grosu, the Chairman of the County Council Ciprian Dobre. After that he had talks with the Chairman of the County Chamber of Trade and Industry Vasile Pop. Partners got the Ambassador acquainted with potential of the region for Czech companies in the field of chemical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as timber production and musical instruments manufacturing. They also informed him about plans for establishing industrial zone specialized on pharmaceutical industry and connected with a research center.

At present there are 7 companies with the Czech capital in the Mures County and the Czech Republic ranks as the 26th biggest County investor (while the 13th in Romania), but Czech companies are also present through important contracts, e.g. between Chemoprojekt and a Romanian company Azomures.

Besides economic cooperation, meetings of the Ambassador were also focused on further development of cultural cooperation between the Mures County and the Czech Republic; County representatives suggested to organize a common event at the Lapusna Chateau, which was built  by the Czech architect to the Romanian Royal Court Karel Zdeněk Líman.
