Celebrations of the Czech National Holiday in other Romanian cities

The Embassy of the Czech Republic together with the Czech Center organized, supported by Czech companies in Romania and local organizers, celebrations of the Czech National Day not only in Bucharest, but also other cities in Romania.

A joint concert of top Czech and Romanian violinists Pavel Šporcl and Alexandru Tomescu, followed by a reception, was held on 1 November 2013 in Baia Mare (capital of Muramures County), on 2 November in Cluj-Napoca (capital of Cluj County), on 3 November in Bistrita (capital of Bistrita-Nasaud County) and on 5 November in Timisoara (capital of Timis County). On these occasions Ambassador Šitler, who attended the celebrations, had also talks with highest representatives of the Prefecture, the County Council, the City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce on potential further cooperation between the Czech Republic and the County. Profit from the concert tour is intended for humanitarian purpose. In sum the events were attended by approx. 2,100 people.
