King Mihai I awarded Ambassador Šitler for his generous and active representation of the interests of the Czech Republic in Romania, for his contribution to the truthful presentation of the historical role played by the Romanian Army in the liberation of Czechoslovakia during World War II, and for friendship and openness the Czech Republic offers to
Romania through the Ambassador. 

The ceremony at Elisabeta Palace was attended also by Prince Radu and Princess Margareta.
