Czech books at Gaudeamus Book Fair in Bucharest

On 23 November 2013, Ambassador Jiří Šitler launched the first part of the Czech Book Collection at Gaudeamus Book Fair.

Within the project of the Embassy of the Czech Republic and Czech Centre Bucharest in partnership with Curtea Veche Publishing, supported by CEZ Romania and Staropramen, Czech classic literature as well as books by contemporary authors translated into Romanian are being published. Those published in 2013 include the “Stories from a pocket & stories from another pocket“ by Karel Čapek, “I don´t want to get back among the dead and other stories“ by Erika Oláhová and “77 Prague legends“ by Alena Ježková. In addition to these three books published by Curtea Veche, the book fair presents an anthology of 14Czech contemporary writers  “The lion´s mane on the pillow“ published by Arc Publishing House in Chişinău.  Other stands offer also “Invasion 68: Prague“, the impressive volume of photographer Josef Koudelka´s pictures, and the recently published monograph on “Karel Zdeněk Líman. The Czech Architect of the Royal House of Romania“.
