Czech Envoy Martin Smolek visited Romania

On 14 February 2014, JUDr. Martin Smolek, Ph.D., LL.M., the Agent for the Czech Republic before the Court of Justice of the European Union visited Romania. He was accompanied by Jiří Vláčil from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

On 14 February, he hold talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania with Răzvan Horaţiu Radu, the Undersecretary of State and the Agent for Romania before the Court of Justice of the European Union, and with his team. The debate was focused mainly on the Procedural tactics in infringement proceedings, the cooperation with responsible ministries, the increase of the number of judges of the General Court, and some important cases pending before the Court of Justice.

Afterwards, the Agent for the Czech Republic negotiated with the administration of the  National Institute of Magistracy, where the national courts references for preliminary ruling were discussed.
