Czech Senators visit Czech community in Banat

On 28 February – 3 March 2014, Senators of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Miroslav Krejča, a Chairperson of the Committee on EU Affairs, and Jaroslav Doubrava, a Vice-Chairperson of the same committee and a member of the Standing Senate Commission on Compatriots Living Abroad, visited Czechs in Romanian Banat.

In Banat, Senators met with mayors and heads of local branches of the Democratic Union of Czechs and Slovaks in Romania (UDSCR), with representatives of  the Caras-Severin Prefecture and County Council, where Czech community lives, as well as with a deputy of the Parliament of Romania and a President of UDSCR Adrian-Miroslav Merka and participated at Masopust festival. There was also Ambassador Jiří Šitler attending Banat.
