Deputy Secretary of State for EU Affairs Georgiev participated in the meeting on the EU Strategy for the Danube Region in Bucharest

Deputy Secretary of State for European Affairs of the Czech Republic JUDr. Jiří Georgiev, Ph.D. visited Romania on 30 – 31 January 2012.

Accompanied by a delegation, he participated in the 2nd Meeting of National Contact Points and Priority Area Coordinators concerning the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. The Czech Republic and Hungary coordinate the Priority Area 2 (energy). The discussion was focused on the financing of the Strategy, experience and lessons learnt from the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region. Regarding the communication, the participants emphasized the importance of the contact point INTERACT Point Vienna as well as the website of EU Strategy for the Danube Region  http://www.danube-region.eu and http://www.danube-navigation.eu.
