Ministers of Foreign Affairs participated on the Czech – Romanian Investment Opportunities Forum

On 18-19 October 2012, the Czech-Romanian Investment Opportunities Forum took place at the Bucharest exhibition centre Romexpo. The event was financed as projects aimed at the promotion of economic diplomacy by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bucharest and the Entreprise Europe Network Czech Republic (Technology Centre of the Academy of Science of the Czech Republic).

Among the speakers participated Ministers of the Foreign Affairs of both countries, H.E. Karel Schwarzenberg and H.E. Titus Corlăţean, and H.E. Jiří Šitler, Ambassador of the Czech Republic.  Minister T. Corlăţean described the ELI Laser project, where the Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania cooperate together and emphasized the possibilities for cooperation in the ICT, automotive, environment, infrastructure, agriculture and energy sector. Minister K. Schwarzenberg outlined the long tradition of the bilateral relationship. “There are not many countries so near that offer such opportunities for Czech entrepreneurs as Romania does”, Karel Schwarzenberg said. Minister invited the Romanian investors to come to the Czech Republic, that offers the advantage of the proximity to the so called european golden triangle.

On the Forum, the total of  47 Czech and 42 Romanian companies, scientific and investment institutions participated. The potential investors, that came  from the Czech Republic, were informed about how to make business in Romania. During the Forum and the Glass of wine, that took place at the residence of Ambassador Jiří Šitler, the networking was held between the Czech and the Romanian companies.
