Prime Minister Victor Ponta inaugurated Energypedia Conference organized by ČEZ

On 9 – 10 October 2012, Energypedia 2012, first edition of the largest and the most important energy related conference in Romania, took place at the Bucharest InterContinental Hotel. The event was organized under the patronage of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bucharest.

The Energypedia Conference was inaugurated by Prime Minister Victor Ponta in the presence of H.E. Jiří Šitler, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, and Jan Veškrna, CEO of ČEZ Romania. Present at the conference were also the state secretary from the Ministry of Economy and the representatives of the Chamber of Deputies, ANRE Energy Regulatory Authority, Competition Council as well as Ţuca, Zbârcea & Asociaţii Attorneys, Director General of Hidroelectrica and Electrica, and competitor companies EoN, ENEL, and GDF Suez Energy Romania.

Energypedia unites all the important players in the branch - in the field of distribution, sale, production of conventional energy and also production of renewable energy. By this initiative, the ČEZ group took a role of the strategic partner in the energy sector development in Romania, which represents a significant part of the European mosaic of the energy market. Lectures focused not only on current developments but also on the future. Jan Veškrna, CEO of ČEZ Romania, puts great emphasis on education. He gave diploma awards to the six best students of the Electrical Engineering Faculty of the University of Craiova during the Gala Ceremony.
