Special Envoy of the Czech Republic for Energy Security, Mr. Vaclav Bartuska, visited Romania between 19th and 20th April 2011. He had a fruitful discussions with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy. As a guest speaker he also participated at the gathering of Energy Security Working Group at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his stay he visited a wind farm of the Czech company CEZ and the Nuclear Power Plant in Cernavoda.
Main topics discussed by Mr. Bartuska and his Romanian colleagues were as follows: Cooperation in the EU (North-South Gas Corridor, Interconnectivity of national grids) and with the third countries (Southern Corridor); Role of EU Eastern Neighbours (Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and Moldova; Nuclear Energy and impacts of the Fukushima accident; Renewable sources of energy.
