The seventh One World Romania film festival opens in Bucharest

On 17 March 2014, the seventh human rights documentary film festival One World Romania, inspired by the Prague One World festival, opened in Bucharest.

At the opening ceremony attended by more than 500 visitors including the Diplomatic Corps the Ambassador Jiří Šitler pointed out the importance of observing human rights at the present time, mentioned 25th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain and aggression against Ukraine.

The festival organized by the Association One World Romania and the Czech Center Bucharest is dedicated to the memory of Czech President Václav Havel, the long-time patron of this festival. It takes place until March 23 and is attended by 25 foreign guests. A total of 50 films in their original versions with Romanian and English subtitles will be presented during 100 screenings in three Bucharest cinemas. Dozens of accompanying events include workshops, seminars and discussions with the film makers.  Over 10 000 spectators are expected to attend One World Romania.
