H.E. Mr. Karel Schwarzenberg visited Egypt on April 1 – 3, 2012
The First Deputy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, H.E. Karel Schwarzenberg, paid his official visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt on April 1 – 3, 2012. He was accompanied by a delegation of members of the Czech entrepreneurial circles.
During his visit, Minister Schwarzenberg met a number high representatives of the Egyptian political and public life. Apart from his counterpart, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Mohamed Kamel Amr, he was also received by Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Kamal al-Ganzouri, and Speaker of the Shoura Council, H.E. Ahmed Fehmi. Other highly interesting meetings took place in the seat of the League of Arab Countries where Minister Schwarzenberg met General Secretary of LAS, H.E. Nabil al-Arabi and at al-Azhar University where he was hosted by H.E. Grand Sheikh Ahmad al-Tayyeb. Minister Schwarzenberg met also Mr. Amr Mousa, former Foreign Minister of the EAR and Secretary General of the LAS.
The program of the business delegation, led by Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr. Tomáš Dub, was prepared by the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic in close collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo. 15 companies and entrepreneurial unions were represented in the delegation. Apart from individual meetings with various Egyptian companies a joint Business Forum with the Federation of Industry of Egypt took place. Close relations with Commercial and Development Agency of Egypt were also established. The economic collaboration between both countries was a highlight of discussions with Prime Minister Ganzouri and Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Mohamed Eisa.
The official visit of Minister Schwarzenberg was without any doubt very successful and it contributed considerably to the development of cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
