The Penal Colony and TheBeetle Theatre Performances inspired by Franz Kafka's short stories in Cairo and Alexandria

The Penal Colony and TheBeetle theatre performances inspired by Franz Kafka's short stories were performed by Al Warsha Troupe and the Czech actor Mr. Jan Malik in Cairo (12th December) and Alexandria (13th December). The theatre tour represents a part of the Czech Embassy's cultural project for the years 2013-2014 "Kafka in Cairo" and was carried out in close co-operation between the Embassy, the Association of the Czech Women in Cairo, Al Warsha Theatre Troupe and Jesuit Cultural Center in Alexandria.
In the Penal Colony and TheBeetle theatre performaces were played in Cairo (Al Warsha Theatre,12th December) and Alexandria (The Garage Theatre, 13th December). TheBeetle was performed by the Czech actor and dancer Mr. Jan Malik, In the Penal Colony was presented by Al Warsha Theatre Troupe. No chair in Al Warsha Theatre and almost no chair in the Garage Theatre remained unoccupied.
This event has been representing a part of the Czech Embassy's cultural program for the years 2013 and 2014, called "Kafka in Cairo 2013-2014". The Czech Embassy had held and will hold several cultural and educational events within the Kafka in Cairo framework. More info you may find on our web.
