Concert of music by Czech and Dutch jewish composers "Triumph of the Heart"

From the 9th up till the 18th of May the CIMF will present rich and vibrant program of classical and contemporary music. This festival will commemorate the centenary of the commencement of World War 1 and the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 2 through the compositions of composers who served as soldiers on all sides.

On Tuesday 13th May 2014 at 8:15pm the Canberra Interantional Music Festival presents a concert of music by Czech and Dutch jewish composers  "Triumph of the Heart‘" , which will take a place in Fitters Workshop (Kingston Arts Precinct, 11 Wentworth Avenue, Kingston). The compositions of famous czech composers Erwin Schulhoff, Pavel Haas, Viktor Ullman and Ilse Weber will tell you a powerful stories of the traumatic war experiences.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic will present an exhibition "The art in the war trenches", which should be displayed at the premises of Fitters Workshop, Kingston during whole period of the festival.
