Czech Language Classes (2011-2012)
For over 80 years Sokol Spirit has been offering Czech language classes in the same classroom on Saturday mornings…..a RICH HISTORY and accomplishment. Starting with youngsters and now providing adult programs since the 1990’s, Spirit was originally part of the Czech Free-Thinking Society which sponsored various Czech language schools. Spirit’s first teachers were members of Sokol Spirit. For the next school year, Spirit is proud to announce that Sister Pavlina Reichlova from the Czech Republic studying Language Pathology in the U.S.A. will be the head teacher. Substitute teachers include Sisters Vera Wilt (Sokol Spirit), a lawyer and Czech language interpreter/translator, Lenka Murarikova, Czech Republic degree in teaching English as a Second Language, and Lenka Mezera, our former head instructor who has grown-up just outside Prague and has a Masaryk University degree in teaching English as a Second Language. Sisters Lenka Mezera. is our textbook liaison in the Czech Republic and Sheila Gatsos, Spirit Educational Director and Dominican University college professor are part of the Spirit Czech language team as well as Sisters Meribeth Tooke, Spirit past president and Missy Dropka, Spirit past executive board member.

FAST TRACK(For those attending/participating in the Sokol Slet in Prague late June, 2012) 8:30-10:30am 3 lessons/$30 Starting June 2 and ending June 16, 2012. Minimum 8 students. NO TEXTBOOK.
