The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago would like to inform all Czech citizens in the USA about upcoming Czech presidential election 2013.
WHEN: Elections will be held on January 10 and 11, 2013; from 2.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

WHO can vote: Czech citizens in the USA
REQUIRED for voting: valid Czech passport or valid Czech identification card
CONDITION: the basic requirement for voting is to register with the Consulate General in Chicago no later than on December 2, 2012 (till 4.00 p.m.). (The Consulate General will be exceptionally opened also during the weekend December 1 and 2, 2012 from 8.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. in order to facilitate the registration.)
The application can be delivered to the Consulate General personally from Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. or by mail to the following address:

It is necessary to enclose to the application the original or verified copy of the identification document (passport, ID), proof of your Czech citizenship (Czech passport, Czech ID, Czech citizenship certificate) and proof of your residence in one of the states of the General Consulate’s jurisdiction: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Please be advised that a valid Czech passport or valid Czech identification card is required for voting.
Second round runoff Czech presidential election
If no candidate receives a majority of the votes in the first round, a second round runoff election will be held 14 days later (January 24 and 25, 2013; from 2.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.).
