Czech Television and Cultural Television ARTE Signed a Cooperation Agreement

(This article expired 13.11.2014.)

Petr Dvořák, General Director of the Czech Television, signed a cooperation agreement with the ARTE television in its headquarters in Strasbourg on 16 October 2013.

ARTE is a major French-German TV channel, which focuses on the area of cultural programmes. In August 2013 Czech Television launched a new channel ČT art. This agreement, that will come into force on 1 January 2014, will guarantee to the viewers of ČT art a cultural broadcast of a highest quality. The Czech Television believes that the cooperation with ARTE will as well bring a possibility to distribute Czech cultural programmes to French and German viewers.

According to the agreement both parties agreed to invest 100 000 EUR in 2014 in development of co-projects, particularly documentaries about art, culture and history. Besides the co-projects the parties agreed on acquisitions of programmes for the ČT art channel and on connecting the contents of their websites.
