Juilliard's Czech Liederabend celebrated the Yveta Synek Graff Opera Collection

The Juilliard School and its Ellen and James S. Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts presented an all-Czech Liederabend on Thursday, March 29,2012 in Juilliard’s Paul Hall, celebrated the Yveta Synek Graff Czech Opera Collection. The collection included translated and phoneticized Czech opera and song scores and archival documents that have been donated to Juilliard. The titles comprising the Yveta Synek Graff Czech Opera Collection represented a priceless resource that has authenticated Czech opera performances in this country from coast to coast, and around the world. Among the items in the collection were working scores of Dvořák’s Rusalka, Janáček’s Jenůfa and Kát’a Kabanová, and
Smetana’s Dalibor, among others.
