Prague's five star hotel Le Palais ranks among five most luxurious hotels in the world, it is on the third place within Europe. These are the results of the Tripadvisor's portal public poll "Traveler's Choice 2008" that runs annually. The world's best hotel is Los Altos de Eros near city of Tamarindo in Costa Rica. Thai hotel Layana Resort and Spa, Ritz-Carlton in Berlin and greek hotel Mykonos Grand Hotel & Resort got in front of Le Palais.

"The fifth place is a result of our long-term efforts. We appreciate it very much, because this is mainly our guests' opinion" said Jiri Gajdosik, Director of Le Palais. "Our win in the classification of the Best hotel services in Europe is even more valuable for us".

There were five Czech hotels in the world's one hundred best rated hotels. All of them are located in Prague. Riverside Hotel ranks on16th place, Ventana Hotel on 41st place, Savoy Hotel ended up in 83rd place and Andel's Hotel in 88th place. The fact that five Czech hotels were among one hundred best world's hotels represents that Czech hotels can compete foreign hotels according to Tomio Okamura, Spokesman of the Association of the Czech travel agencies. Most of the Prague's hotels were built after 1989, they are new and offer high-level services. Okamura does not agree that the chosen five Czech hotels are the best what Prague has to offer. "For example Andel's Hotel is only a four star hotel and is situated next to the shopping mall. Riverside hotel is located in a very busy neighbourhood and is far away from the historical sites. This infirms a quality and a predicative value of this public poll" said Okamura. According to his opinion "The Leading Hotel of the World" poll targets the luxurious hotels much better, because each hotel must meet at least two basic requirements - hotel must be unique and must have luxurious location.
