Date: 13 September 2014 - 23 November 2014, Venue: Bornholm

We cordially invite you to the biennial of European Ceramic Context 2014 which will take place on the island of Bornholm from September 13 to November 23, 2014.

Artists from all 28 EU member countries, together with artists from Island, Norway and Switzerland are invited to the biennial. This year the Czech Republic is represented by Šárka Radová and Zdeněk Manina in the Ceramic Art category and Ondřej Batoušek in the New Talent category.

European Ceramic Context 2014 appoints one National Commissioner in each of the participating European countries. The curator of the Czech presentation is, as well as at the two previous biennials, Mgr. Milan Hlaveš, Ph.D., the Head of  Glass, Ceramics and Porcelain Collection at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.

The biennial of ceramics is part of the wider symposium European Contemporary Glass and Ceramics which presents the best of contemporary European ceramics and glass art to the professional as well as non-professional audience. Since 2006 the two mentioned disciplines have taken turns on Bornholm. The aim of biennial is not only to present quality art, but also to create a space for inspiration and exchanging experiences between the artists, and create a platform for discussion in the artistic field. Besides the exhibitions, and as part of the symposium, art workshops, master classes, lectures and conferences are organized.
