At the last film evening of the year on 28 th November 2007 Czech students, Czechs living in Denmark, their friends and family again gathered at the embassy to view a new film in the frame of the traditional Friends of the Silver Screen evenings.

The Czech film from 2006 Beauty in Trouble (Kráska v nesnázích) by the creative duo director Jan Hřebejk and script writer Petr Jarchovský was presented on DVD. The previous works of the creative duo Hřebejk and Jarchovský have also previously been shown at the Embassy.

The creators found inspiration for the love story of the young woman portrayed in their film in the poem of Robert Graves by the same title. The motifs of the poem were also used in the music of the film, in the songs of singer Raduza and the Irish musician Glen Handsard. The film was screened for the first time in 2006 at the Film Festival in Karlovy Vary.

Since the Embassy attempts to show films which have received awards both at home and abroad, it is worth mentioning that the film Beauty in Trouble won the Czech Lion award in the cathegories best actress: Anna Geislerová, and best female supporting actress: Jana Brejchová and male supporting actor: Jiří Schmitzer in 2006. The film was nominated in several other categories also.
