On February 1 st 2008 the student hall of residence, Studentergården, hosted an international café for Danish and foreign students: Café Østen - Eastern Café, with the purpose of increasing the knowledge about and interest for old and new neighbours in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Czech Embassy contributed to the event by supplying brochures and posters about the Czech Republic.

The event had about 200 visitors during the evening. The guests had the opportunity to talk over the coffee tables and read the distributed brochures. In the lounge videos from different Central and East European countries were running and instead of the monotonous sound of dance music the tones of pop songs and music from Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans was heard from the disco.
