Ambassador of the Czech Republic, H. E Ivan Jančárek, and Mayor of the City of Århus, H. E. Nicolai Wammen, opened the exhibition " CZECH PRESS PHOTO 2007" at Århus City Hall (Århus Rådhus), Rådhuspladsen on February 27 2008. On the occasion of the opening ceremony the Czech violinist, Mrs. Lada Fedorova, played Czech music of the famous Czech authors Antonín Dvořák and Bedřich Smetana

About exhibition:

The exhibition presents the collection of the best Czech press photos awarded by the international jury in the annual contest "Czech Press Photo 2007". The exhibition consists of 60 photos of several authors.

" Czech Press Photo" is an independent platform for pictorial witnessing our lives. The aim of the contest and the follow-up exhibition is to motivate photographers to adopt a more personal approach in their routine everyday work and thus to stimulate further development in the area of photography. The aim is also to allow the public to become eyewitness to the events and phenomena of the past year.
