On 19 August 2008, Ambassador Zdeněk Lyčka met up with Mr Nicolai Wammen, Mayor of Århus. They discussed the prepared presentation of the Czech Republic in Århus during the Czech Presidency in the EU, the Czech studies at the University of Århus and further cooperation between the Embassy and the City Hall.

On 26 August 2008, Ambassador Zdeněk Lyčka visited Odense. He met up with Mr Jan Boye, Mayor of Odense, to discuss the prepared exhibition of Czech press photographs under the Presidency of the Czech Republic in the Council of the European Union, and the possibilities of further development of Odense-Brno partnership. The Ambassador visited also the Brandts Klædefabrik exhibiton area and Hans Christian Andersen 's Museum.
