The exhibition opening

The exhibition of illustrations by Martin Velíšek was presented for the first time in September 2008 in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, as part of the project Czech days in Greenland. Afterwards the exhibition travelled around Greenland (Qaqortoq, Maniitsoq, Sisimiut and Ilulissat). In April 2009 the inhabitants of the West-Greenlandic town Maniitsoq had an opportunity to meet Martin Velíšek personally and hear the lecture which he prepared together with Czech Ambassador Zdeněk Lyčka. In 2010 the exhibition was shown in Knud Rasmussen’s House in Hundested, in 2011 in the museum in Skive and in summer 2012 in the Greenlandic House in Copenhagen. The exhibition will be shown in Odense until 14 January 2013 and afterwards it will continue to the Greenlandic House in Aalborg and to the alternative Copenhagen quarter of Christiania.
