The book of condolences for Václav Havel

On 20-22 December 2011, dozens of people came to the Czech Embassy in Copenhagen to pay respect in memory of the deceased Mr. Václav Havel, politician, playwright and writer, the first Czechoslovak and Czech President after the Velvet Revolution.

Czech and Slovak expatriates, diplomats, representatives of Denmark and friends of the Czech Republic came to express their sorrow over the death of Mr. Václav Havel.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic thanks you all for expressing your sympathy.  

Václav Havel, writer and playwright, one of the initiators of Charter 77 human rights movement, a leading figure in the Velvet Revolution of 1989, the last president of Czechoslovakia and the first president of the Czech Republic, passed away on 18 December 2011 at the age of 75.
