26.03.2013 / 17:37
On 24 March 2013 a special exhibition of Czech posters from the private collection of the Lowry Family of New York City was opened in the Poster Museum in Hoorn. The exhibition covers the period between 1891 and 1938. The Ambassador of the Czech Republic H.E. Mr. Jaroslav Horák made an opening speech on the occasion.
The posters reflect the social, economic, political and artistic influences that marked their era. Father and son, George S. and Nicholas D. Lowry, have selected 121 highlights out of their collection amassing more than 1000 pieces for the museum exhibition. These posters are among the most beautiful examples from the period, and many have never been exhibited before. The exhibition in the museum will be up through mid-June 2013.
