First night of the Finnish-Czech movie “Mieletön elokuu” on 4 October 2013 in Helsinki

On Friday 4 October 2013 there was a first night of the movie “Mieletön elokuu” (August Fools) directed by Taru Mäkelä in Helsinki. It is a nostalgic romantic comedy of Finnish-Czech production situated in the period of cold war at the early 60´s starring among others Miroslav Etzler, Kryštof Hádek, Jan Budař.
Elsa, a middle-aged milliner (Kati Outinen), has total control of her life until the man she once loved and lost suddenly walks through the door of her hut-shop. We are in Helsinki, 1962. Jan, a Czech jazz musician (Miroslav Etzler), is in town to perform at the World Festival of Youth and Students. For more than two decades Elsa has believed the man to be dead. Initially Elsa wants to stay away from Jan. Jan however is persistent, persuasive and charming. When Elsa at last overcomes her fear of love and commitments she realizes that if they want to spend together more than just seven festival days, there is only one solution….
