(This article expired 31.03.2020.)

Petr Rehor was born in Varnsdorf, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and after graduation (1975) he left with his wife for Finland where he has been living ever since. The artist, curator and art critic has produced a wide collection of artworks and successful exhibitions both in the Czech Republic and in Finland.

In the 90´s he started to work with letters, tagged together in space and colour variations, which became the main topic of his work. He says: “Letters have a deep meaning for me, they have become bodies of abstract words of power which can disappear any moment.” A part of Petr Rehor´s artistic creations is devoted to collages and sculptures. The artist has been actively developing contacts between the Czech Republic and Finland as he for example together with the Finnish television made a documentary film about Czech artists “Interrogation” and he organized a Czech art exhibition in Finland. He has so far exhibited in all prestige Finnish galleries and also eg. in Manes Gallery and Josef Čapek Gallery in Prague.
